Darrelle Revis and the Jets

Hey sports fans, welcome to my sports and fitness blog. How are we doing today? Better than the New York Jets Cornerback Darrelle Revis, thats for sure. After Revis was involved in a fight with some drunk kids who wanted to film him walking around in Pittsburgh. Revis was walking around the infamous South Side where a plethora of NFL players and coaches have been goaded into fights in the past and then arrested by over zealous police officers who trump up charges and this seems to be no different. Revis was charged with four felonies and a misdemeanor count of terrorist threats, something that should not be used as a bargaining chip but seems to be in this case.

Revis is now looking at the end of his career with the Jets and possibly in the NFL if this doesn’t get straightened out properly. There is language in his current contract that he may be in violation of depending on how the Jets feel about this situation, although as always the decision will most likely lie with the commissioner, who has been known to swing his hammer at times like this.

The Jets may be able to get their $6 million dollar investment back if that happens, although they may decide to suspend Revis for detrimental conduct, but this would bring the Players Association into the ruling. Whatever they are going to do they need to figure it out quickly before then end up getting in trouble somehow themselves. It doesn’t help that Revis is the biggest name the Jets have had in decades, so being in a big battle regardless is bad for business. The Jets have until March 10th to decide what they will do, but Revis needs to get a move on the legal process so that he can be in a good light before then.
